RE: ATM Anyone know Dan Cassaro

Hey Guys
I am reluctant to join this conversation but feel I have to add an opposing view that is (I believe) held by more than me. I would agree that Dan is "one of the good guys". However his business practices leaves a bit to be desired. I too ordered something from Dan in March and finally took delivery of "most" of it in late July after more than a dozen email and voicemail attempts. Some of the services that I had ordered and paid for were not included. In correspondence since then he agreed to reimburse me but never has. I have since given up trying, since what I did get was enough to start grinding. I chocked the loss up to the cost of experience. If this had been a larger company I doubt any of us would give such glowing tributes. Especially after waiting a year for a product to arrive. But since Dan is one of our own we tend to overlook much. That is fine so long as we go into the arrangement expecting or accepting this.
This is NOT intended as a slur against Dan. He has done much for this community. I reference his website often. I doubt if he is getting rich off this venture and I wish him luck in it and recognize he is trying to do something good for our community. However if you are going to order something from him you had better be prepared to work a little harder than normal to make sure you get what you want.
John, I think your second paragraph sums it up as well as any. Accept that this is not Dan's full time job and go into any transaction with that awareness.

Just another view

Willie,
John Murray from Australia here. Regarding Dan, I have had some orders
through Dan and although the last one took over a year to get here it DID
arrive. I suspect that the problems with the anthrax scares over in the
states contributed. (The last order was for fine white powders!!
Suspicious??) Anyway while I did have trouble on occasion recieving a prompt
reply he at no stage ignored me. The last order was sent 4 times. 3 by sea
which did not turn up. The 3rd one he sent me eventually ended up being
returned by the Australian postal service back to him. He then was kind
enough to send it back to me via airmail.
He certainly lost out on the deal and after I offered to send money to
cover the airmail he said that there was no need to. I believe that when
someone is doing a service like Dan, being employed and having a life is as
important as the ATMing. Anyone who buys sight unseen and using plastic
while not picking the goods up in person I think has to expect that some
times things will not always go right. This is something that does happen
and is unfortunate.
To quote Tyrone Again "Dan is definately one of the good guys."

My two cents worth...

<Dan is definately one of the good guys.
You should email him if there is a problem.>

One of the good guys? Sorry to chime in here somewhat off topic, most of the
time I just lurk around learning. When you make a deal with someone they
should honor their end as should you.
