Two additional things to look for, Valves and Gauging.  I see these as the
two most expensive and difficult problems to overcome for anyone building a
vacuum system.   Everything else can be fabricated or scrounged off Ebay
fairly inexpensively.

BTW, anyone have a 'Rule of Thumb" guide for diffusion pump to chamber size?
This could be handy for evaluating the above system's potential.
