Actually it can be done quite successfully, you do have to modify the spindle in the drill press, center drill and ream to 3/8" then install two grub/set screws to hold your end mill. And durring operation if you remember to take light cuts then all will be fine.
There are better machines to convert eg. mortising machines are a much better choice, but the drill press will work. I'm not the first to do it BTW, and probably won't be the last either....
