Re: ATM What to do with a drill press

Years ago I tried using a drill press in conjunction with an XY stage for
milling. I don't recommend it. Milling is a totally different from drilling.
Milling machines are built to withstand the lateral forces milling. In
addition end mills are held with a collet or end mill holder and use a draw
bar. Drilling machines do not use a draw bar and have a morse taper designed
for drilling. Drill chucks are not designed to hold an end mill either.
