Roger, your comments on the astigmitism and lateral color are interesting.
I've looked through the 13" at Stellafane and found none of these problems
that you have described.  I got to see Neptune with enough power to see that
it was a significant sized disk and saw no strange color stuff with the
stars around it nor any noticable astigmatism on a bright star not too far
from it at the moment.  I felt that, if I hadn't seen the optical tube and
knew what was inside that tube, I'd swear I was looking through an excellent
reflector type telescope.
I might note that I spent over an hour with the scope, looking for Neptune
and Uranus both (for some reason, the computer program didn't have the right
locations for the two planets so we had to go looking for it's location -
never did find Uranus) so I got to see the basic performance of the
instrument with both high and lower power EPs.
