ATM String info from an archer.
Hi all,
I read with considerable interest the discussion on string telescopes
and would like to suggest something to consider. The string on my bow (a
45 pound target recurve) is made of a material called fast-flite. It is
stronger and lighter than Kevlar, which is what we used to use, and
doesn't stretch at all, which is important to maintain accuracy in a bow
over a reasonable period of time. A recurve is also unstrung after use,
so the tension is always coming on and off the string, without any
problems. You might want to have a look at how strings are mounted on
bows, especially compound bows, as there is an impressive array of
clever engineering solutions involved. Fast-flite is also readily
available from your nearest outdoor shop or archery supplier.
Just a thought...
