ATM 5 hour straight bolt camera platform
Took another look at the idea and yes a curve (to slide against) is needed.
What kind of curve?? It's somewhat like a streched ellipse, similar to part
of the annalema. While this may sound difficult to accomplish with a
cutting jig, it isn't hard to lay it out graphically. The curve also looks
a lot like part of the "French Curve" used for old fasioned drafting that
the possibility exists for using a common drafting tool to lay it out for
cutting. In fact the shape appears to be the "Golden Spiral" (I think that
was used to make the "French Curve"). If this is true, it will be very easy
to lay out the required sliding contact curve.
The original idea needed some sort of edge guide to keep the two boards
centered over each other. Instead of a straight guide, I'll just put a
curve on the edge.
