Doug,

What do you mean?  To me, it looks like it works.  What insight have you
had?  I've seen a couple of possible issues, vibration, and as you mention,
holding the board down, but it still seems viable.

Also I think there is a way to improve its accuracy.  If the board on which
the sliding board slides is curved down the sliding board's acceleration
could be compensated.  Possible this could be done by rounding the end of
the sliding board instead/as well.  I'll look at the math in a day or two.
