If I understand this correctly (and I'm not saying I necessarily do),
you are changing the sine of the angle at a constant rate (since the
length of the second board is the hypotenuse, it doesn't change, and the
length of the drive bolt is the opposite side, which changes at a
constant rate).

This is as opposed to a tangent drive, which changes the tangent at a
constant rate.

Seems to me that the error will not be 0 except at one position.
However, note that although the both tan X and sin X approach X as X
approaches 0, sin X is a closer approximation, so the error should be
less than with a tangent drive.
