That is a great idea!  Just forget the fine grinding, and
start figuring the generated curve.   You will save a LOT of
time!

Here is a better idea: get the curve generated by Newport,
and use it as-is from the factory!   I am sure that if you
talk to the friendly people at Newport, they will explain
all of this to you.  You will find out for yourself how
helpful they are.
