RE: ATM Construction of the spider

How about a creative solution? I'm in the process of building a scope with
the diagonal supported by 6 guitar strings (3 above and 3 below the
diagonal, in opposing tension) kept taut by a set of guitar heads. I'm
using the thinnest guitar wire, which should have a substantially smaller
profile than a typical spider. It has the additional advantage of providing
a redundant means of adjusting the diagonal, both in position and angle.

Subject: ATM Construction of the spider

In the rebuilding of my 13" coulter, I'm now wondering how to make the
spider.
I was thinking using aluminium for the vannes so that it be light, but I
don't know what thickness to use and how wide has my vanes to be. Any
recomandation ?
I wan't to build a single upper ring, and I was imagining to have the vanes
angled upward so that the focuser could take place just below the ring. Any
recomandation ?
My secondary is 3" wide and 1" thick.

I saw in the book "lighweight giant's" that S.Overholt used a big cork for
its secondary holder. It's so simple ! Has anyone already tried it? Is there
a problem hidden there?

And, last question, but very important for me : Do you know some web pages
where I can see some spider and secondary ?
All my apologies for my poor english...
