Uhhhh...Jerremy...I hope you are >>kidding<<, right?? (No smiley faces).
Try getting out of bed after the moon sets if you want to observe under a
dark, moonless sky. That's what I did for the last two nights in a row
(and yes, I'm at work all day). Stayed up all night Tuesday into
Wednesday, and got up at 2:00am this morning to observe and do some CCD
imaging.
Was very productive, too. Take a look at the image of NEO 2000QW7 I took
at 5:00am this morning (thanks to an earlier heads-up from an ATM list
member!!).
In fact, EVERY image on this page was taken in the last 2 nights except for
the shot of M17.

Do I like having to get up out of a warm bed or miss my astronomy club
meeting (like I did last night?) No. But if you are not willing to do
that then you ARE going to miss the available dark period(s), and you have
no cause for complaint. It >>was<< clear and dark. You let it pass you by!!!
