ATM: Re: problem with off-axis guider focus
Hi Jack,
if you could find a small enopugh achromat (surplus laser-optics
equipment, e.g. or from old S8 movie camera) and put this into
the guider body, with some adustment you might achieve the right
focus through projection (and having a 3-4x premagnification as well)
into your guiding eyepiece - despite the much different location of the
guider body with respect to your focus. And throw the barlow out, of
course. I agree, there is no point in wasting those 1.7" or so!
However, if you also wanted to employ the lumicon coma
corrector: that _must_ go into the right distance from the film....
