Hm. I guess the information I have may be old ... But you can use MgF 
and overcoat it with SiO (to shield it). By the way, lens coatings
are harder than optical glass ... That's why they are used to protect 
unstable glasses like fluorite or KzFsN .
Do guys at QSP aluminize mirrors at all in the first place, before applying
TiO2/SiO ?
