Re: ATM Ceramic Tools

Randy, he is Dave Barosso, Linden Ca, 209-887-2106 (last number I had for
Dave). I would think porcelin would be harder than glazed ceramic. It is
my gut feel too. My last 5.5-inch was ground to the pitch stage with no
scratches whith each on top at times. I was very careful in cleaning the
gaps between grit changes - lotsa water and tooth-brushing. It seems to
me "old wive's tales" get started and passed around and we shy away from
doing things. I sort-of have that problem with bonding normal thickness
secondaries in place. The talk of sillycon sag when the scope is moved
over center. With my eyesight I'd really be in trouble. NOTOH, If I were
making some precision astrometric measurements with a precession
instrument, I wonder about the errors................
