Re: (ATM) Best way to mount a secondary ?

Hi Mark,

I did the same (well, similar) thing with secondary for my Wright. I
drilled 3 holes in a facing side of secondary holder, screwed in some
small self tapping screws (with a dome head), covered them with RTV,
placed the secondary on top, left it sink into silicon until firmly
sat, and left to cure !

I figured that most of the time secondary will be on top of
the support (I always orient the scope so camera is conveniently
top mounted), so it would be firmly sitting against those screw heads.
My secondary doesn't have any reatining clips, but it is only 2.14"
and much lighter. I doubt that secondary could deform the RTV even
if directly hanging. We'll see once I start those 3 hr exposures !
(NOT until I make an autoguider)

PS Robert, I think we have the concensus now about "the" best way !?
