Solving elasticity problems analytically is very hard. At least, I
remember in my elasticity class in graduate school, the text (Landau
and Lifschitz) had the problem of a cylinder of some material stuck to
and hanging from a perfectly rigid plane. It couldn't be solved, at
least they couldn't find a solution with no deformation at the upper
surface. Maybe there's some nice approximation because you have three
small blobs of the stuff.
Deforming RTV may not be a linear system, so even an approximation or
doing simulations might be difficult. There must be people left there
at LLNL who can do the simulations, though they may not have time.
Experiments might be easier.
