Very interesting ! I always thought that glueing the glass plates was a
big no-no; first because epoxy shrinks significantly, and sort od
pre-loads the glass (lots of strain), second because epoxy will change
its properies over the time (just imagine helplesly looking at that
fine 1/10 wave figure going down the drain), and thirdly because I've
always heard that glued glass cannot be aluminized without changing
figure significantly (OK, you can resilver it as often as needed, but
it's a big pain). How do you overcome all these problems? Are they a
REAL problem in the first place?
