Re: (ATM) Spiders
re diagonal shaking:
Ordinary spiders such as Novak's have torsional vibration because they're
radial but the effect is greatly worsened because of their tiny hub. It's
not hard to fabricate a simple damping brace from the hub to the spider
vanes, in the shadow of the secondary to make the hub diameter effectively
as large as the secondary. A disk of plywood with four blocks, with a tiny
dab of silicone glue attaching each to a spider vane, should do it.
