Re: [ATM] FW: wire spider
Most important for me in a wire spider (mine is at http://home.wanadoo.nl/jhm.vangastel/Astronomy/tridob/tridob.htm#ring ) is: very lightweight, very easy to build, vane thickness as seen from the sky not influence by nog vertical position of the vanes, thinner spikes, no diffraction effects of cooling. I use 0.48 mm steel cable (19 wires of 0.1 mm thickness). Does not stretch. I use mine for about half a year now and the tension on the wires hasn't changed as far I can see and feel. I didn't think of isolating both wires (I also use two) electrically, but it's one of the modifications I am certainly going to make.
