[ATM] Dark Sky's

To all on the list, Dark sky's are rapidly diminishing in our continental USA. There are groups trying to fight the onset of this plague of waisted light and energy that suck's out of our pocket books..let alone the wash covering the stars above. It seems that the majority of our population really could care less. I think that ,until it gets to the point of no return ,will they really miss the starry night, just as they will miss winter days and their coastlines becoming flooded from global warming. I think that most of you on this list would agree that our country needs to wake up...
This is not that big of a task to do if we could only see past the "groove" we have made for ourselves. We want what we want ..now..We want what we want (even at the cost of our ecology) We want what we want, and if we can't get it we will take it from another country.
These concepts are nothing new, but for a civilized country?? they are not acceptable on any terms. This country has lost it's rudder, and the majority are more worried about what is on TV tonite and whats on the dinner plate..., Who was traded in the NFL, and who's pitching for the baseball team in the playoffs...We all think about these things ..but outside the blinders we have big problems and they will NOT go away.... until it may be too late..I am sorry I am so off the topic of this list.... My main question was has anyone seen a Milky Way shadow on the ground.
As a Moon Shadow is common, I have only heard stories of Dark Sky's and a shadow produced by the photon's of the Milky Way alone...That's Dark!!! Russ
(again I am sorry for my rant)
