Re: [ATM] Flat making on You Tube

Another approach is to take a long plank and set it between two chairs. Then attach a very sturdy wooden box to the plank, with the head of a machine or wood screw protruding maybe 1 cm from the top. Cut out a sturdy circle of plywood or whatever, and cut a hole in the center of the circle that will match the protruding screw. Put some cleats on the circle, and then you have a turntable. Paint it all and let it dry. 2 coats work well. Or more. Make it so the box and turntable are at a comfortable height. You can them work in relative comfort.
I only do this for polishing.
Stole the idea from the Springfield Telescope Makers.

Sorry Bob! I thought you were being critical about my first remark.
You clearly know how bad "bad" is in this case.

That barrel is great if you do not already have back problems. If you
do, however, this could get really painful. On the other hand, if that
motion is done properly, it closely resembles some physical therapy
exercises I know of for people with lower back problems.

I am happy Francis has something that works for him. I am also glad
to see people with various disabilities (back problems amongst the
most common) finding ways to get around the various challenges. Yeah,
I have a learned a few tricks for myself. It would be a fascinating
story to see how all the ATMs with various physical challenges have
managed to stay active in this hobbby. Being on a mailing list, we
never get any sense of what the others are dealing with physically.
