[ATM] Life on the edge

Thanks, gents, for your responses.  Consensus seems to be to leave
the edge crudded up, and maybe that's what I'll do.

That's it exactly.  It's just one of those workmanship things: a job
should be neat.  But I don't want to risk damaging the mirror surface
for the sake of something that really doesn't matter.
