Please note that full consumer cameras have these coatings.
Scientific grade CCDs don't have the additional coatings and are
actually CCD chips rather than the CMOS process that
commercial/consumer cameras are.
On the good side tho is that some cameras have the coating off of
the chip and in the lens array which you will need to remove
anyway so look for the odd flat piece in the lens assy to see if
that is the IR filter.  It is coated on one side with a really
visible coating.
