I've noted the same problem amongst some of my older EPs that
I've cleaned a lot.
My suspicio9n is that the erosion of the coating has been
throught the multiple cleanings and rubbings that I've done over
the years.
Supporting this supposition is that he erosion sin't even across
the surface but rather a bit more in some areas, probably from
some more agressive dirt removal.
