[ATM] question about eyepiece coatings

To the group:

I have a question regarding eyepiece coatings.  I
recently noticed that some of my high-end eyepieces
(I won't say which ones) have some variation in the
hue of the optical coatings when inspected at an angle
near a light source.  These are advertised as not
being multicoated, but hard coated with MgF.  In a
side-by-side comparison, I've noticed that the hue of
the coatings is either purpleish or what I would
describe as light amber colored.  Is this a normal
thing, or should I be seeing only the purpleish tint?
