Exactly.
A is approximately the focal length of the primary mirror.
2 * tan(AFOV/2) * A then equals the size of the field stop of the
eyepiece.
So you too have derived: ring ID = Aperture + field stop of eyepiece
The maximum field stop is only limited by the size of the focuser.
