Well, I understand the task better now.  He was hoping I would be
interested in grinding these things for him.  And I am interested, it is a
new material for me.  But! I don't get to keep the finished product.

That said, he gave me one blank to start with.  It is crystal clear, rings
like a bell when tapped on the edge.  14.75 inches across.  One good side,
one side bunged up a bit.

I'll keep you posted as I get into it.  But I have two other pieces of
glass ahead of it and a garage wall to finish.

BTB: The 15.5 ultrathin got broken.  I suspect a cat named Fats, but no
evidence of course and the perpetrator will only answer one historical
question.  So I swept it up and started to think about the next attempt at
ultrathin.
