Re: [ATM] Fused Quartz Blank



I just finished grinding my 20" fused silica blank
with a tile tool using hard porcaline tiles, a la
Richard Schwartz.  My blank was  partially generated,
then hogged out to f4.25, broke in the tile tool with
240AO, finished it with 5u, and maybe only 1/3rd of
the tile material was used up.

Good hard tiles are the key.
