Aluminum tooling plate is also available from IMS http://www.imsmetals.com/  They now opened a new site in Riverside,Ca. Aluminum tooling plate is great stuff for making fixtures and jigs. Very stable material that doesn't change dimensions when machined, but is dead soft. Can be tapped and machined, great for making fixture plates, but is not a good structural material for use in making telescope parts with. 6061-T6  is a much better structural aluminum for actual telescope parts.
