This was the page I followed for my diamond tool generator, except I 
modified my grinding machine, not having access to a milling machine. I 
found I could not put enough weight on the pin to get sufficient action 
out of the diamonds. They would start cutting briefly, and then do no 
more. Carbide teeth, as you used, might work much better, and perhaps

As for the pipe flange, someone asked for a picture. I have none, but go 
to the home center store, get a pipe flange, close nipple and tee, and 
stick them together and you will see. Place the mirror face up and use 
the flange as a subdiameter tool. It's still much more work than a 
powered curve generator, but it cuts faster than any other hand method 
I've tried.
