  Let me elaborate.  I made both of my generating tools by tube clamping lengths of hacksaw blade, for cutting (grinding) through ceramic tile, around an aluminum disk.  The carbide grinding edge protrudes below the disk (one is a cup actually) as little as possible.  If the intent is to only generate vex surfaces then a disk grinder grinding disk works just as well.  A listy posted a link to a picture showing how he had made a generator with a right angle disk grinder and a potter's wheel.  It was C and wood clamped together.  I was impressed.  I can't find the link in the archive and I just can't remember who it is.  I get the feeling like I should know too.
