For the maximum diameter of support of a rocker box, the support 
points should be at the corners.  For a square rocker box, this mean 
that the ground ring diameter will be square root of two (~1.41) times 
the rocker box width/length.

Aha.  I've never seen that photo.  I was too busy making mirrors to 
search for it.  :)
