Not at all.  This process would be used on a per field point basis.
I'm trying to get the model to represent the user given wavelength

I found the wiki for the conversion -- simple enough.  If I
understand correctly I should fix the Y value (say at 0.5)
and perhaps choose members of an ellipse with, say, 0.61
semiaxis and 0.43 U semiaxis, with "red" to "violet" going
counterclockwise starting NNW with +V north and +U east.

Or am I mistaking the interpretation?
