[ATM] Spot Diagram

Given n (wavelength, weight) pairs (each wavelength unique, each weight
greater than zero), a distribution function over [0,S) could be formed
with each wavelength having a range of values equal to its weight. S is
is the sum of the weights.

A density value could determine how many aperture points are to be used,
which could be set up in a fixed algorithm. For each aperture point, a
pseudo-random number uniformly distributed in [0,S) could be generated
with the value determining the wavelength to be used for that aperture
point.

Sound reasonable?

Any suggestions on how to select colors? Maybe a set of n colors with
the sum of the RGB values equal to 368? Can they be ordered such that,
if the wavelengths are sorted, the result would "resemble" reality in
some way?
