I generally let the owner of the glass see what he's doing just
as soon as he's got a bit of polish on the mirror.  Lets him see
that he's doing something to the glass that is constructive.  It
also lets me see what his technique of polishing is doing to the
shape of the mirror as well as any dogbuscuit that may be
starting.  Later on, the shape of the mirror and so forth are
more easily explained to him along with the results of getting
the glass fully polished out.  Everytime I do it, I see the
anxiety go out of the guy and happiness at success appear.
