Re: [ATM] Foucault test camera recommendations
One thing to note is that the S-video inputs are luminance (black
and white) and chroma. This means that you will get a black and
white image on the screne if you just put the output of your
camera to the luminance side of the S-video jack as the luminance
line takes all of the video timing. The only thing on the chroma
side of the jack is the chrominance signal. You can get cables
that have phono type jacks on one end and the S-video jack on the
other end which will make the job of interfacing a camera (it can
be a color camera if that is what you have but there will be no
color on the display this way) into a monitor/TV with the S-video
jack. If you don't want to buy a cable (gonna be a bit expensive
compared to everything else in the system) just cut of one end
and find which coax inside is the right one (just solder the
phono jack on one coax and try it as nothing will be hurt) and go
from there.
