MessageAn alternative to using hole saws when cutting large holes in thick
metal (I routinely cut large holes in ½" thick aluminum plate) is using the
Swiss made Val-Cut trepanning tool )

tools work in the mill, drillpress, or lathe. Here I show trepanning ½"
thick aluminum plate in the lathe:
