Re: [ATM] Venting Holes in a solid OTA
Very interesting on the shaper bits. It's out in my case since those bits
need 1/4" wood but perhaps on a future project!
I just finished watching a "Wallace and Grommit" (Were Rabbit) with my
daughter. There is one English Rube Goldberg.

Another way to do boards for an optical tube would be with a router
or shaper and radius bits called "Large Diameter Flute and
Bead" "Canoe" or "Bead and Cove" bits. Just cut once and any
variation will be in the diameter of the tube. No need to adjust angles.
Regarding fans, Rube Goldberg would not be impressed with all this
fuss about where to mount a single fan when there is an excuse for
two fans and an air filter. You want clean air flowing both down the
tube over the mirror and out the top of the tube so mount a larger
filtered supply fan with a diffuser in the side of the tube and a
smaller exhaust fan behind the mirror. A rubber diaphragm would make
a good fan mount.
I believe England has a Rube Goldberg counterpart and everyone in
Australia and New Zealand is proud of their gadgets.
