Re: [ATM] stepper-motor-controller??
THNX Tom, and bob, and others who reply,,,
I was kinda hopping it would be a "use as-is" controller, but thats
ok,,I'll just stick to my dc-motors, they worked fine on my other scopes,,
thnx for the tips!!,,you guys are great!!
clear-skies to you!,
John Moore.

I agree a fun and useful circuit (want to control your Foucault tester
so you don't have to touch it; barn door; motorized focuser; etc). If
the controller still uses the 555, here is a link that will help you
nail down how to modify the circuit to get a narrower range of speed:

Extra Cat 5 cable worked for a motor lead.
Have fun.

I built another kit that is similar to that one and have had fun
with it at the time. The kit will do just fine but you will be
wanting to extend out the speed control out a bit with some wire
so that you don't have as much problem controlling the speed.
The thing with building electronic stuff mostly is knowing how to
do things so that they will run. I like using perf board a lot
for doing small projects as the stuff accepts all of the dual
inline parts which can be socketed and thus allows for
wirewrapping to put the circuit together.
