[ATM] Dall-Kirkham

Hi,
  I always wanted a nice DK but don't have the time to make the optics
myself. I'm thinking of buying the optical set, maybe 8 or 10", and
doing the rest myself.  This would be a visual-only/planetary scope. 
I'm thinking f/20 maybe.
  Are there any resources out there of folks who have done this?
I have ideas but, would love to hear how other folks have made out.
