Re: [ATM] There seems to be a reoccurring motif among this list.

I espouse those very ideas Bob, only your idea of mashing them to
pieces is
a little too personal for me; "In other words, stop being your
own testerone
enhanced idiot" pretty much sums up my whole point of the post.

An idea is always a nice thing to have. Some are very good while
others are best not out of the brain as they are really poor.
You'll never know which it is until you do put it out there but
attaching your ego to the idea really isn't a good thing to do as
the bad ones will be hard on your ego. Be ready always to throw
it away when better ideas come up and you will always end up
being better for it. Fighting for your idea isn't bad but you do
need to modify or throw it away, if necessary, when better ideas
happen from somebody else. This is the way to advance the
knowledge of how to do things in the world.
Horses were an excellent idea that worked for a long time but we
now have cars and trucks to move things about. We could have had
our cars with tillers but the steering wheel idea quickly took
over as it was a nicer more useful method of turning the front
wheels to make turns with the vehicle and thus succeeded in the
marketplace. Go look at all of the other ways that improvements
have been made to everything and you will see improvements that
have been made to them as new ideas that ended up being better.
It's your choice as to whether you attach your ego to the idea
and lose when somebody else invents the steering wheel and makes
all of your cars that you made obselete and not salable. Me, I'd
take the idea of the steering wheel and make my cars with it.
