[ATM] First time mirror makers confusion

To All on the list, Mike Lockwood hit the nail on the head...
Newebies are in awe of a
Ronchi test when they see the lines move
to a frough... And if they
have ground and polished there glass with
consistant rotation and
strokes they will be happy to see
"straight lines" of the sphere that
they seek. The next step is a
primative foucault test, just to see
what the close up surface of the
mirror looks like.. (very tell tale
even if you are a novice) But to
go into more complex tests is
asking a little too much for a
guy or gal wanting to look at
                                               the stars through their own
creation... Russ Jocoy
Ps.. Not to say that any of the
other tests are not useful
Just that it would tend to
confuse a novice from the basic
                                                     tests......which are
complicated to one's not familiar with
                                                           them....
