As far as I remember they made ultra thin very big mirror
by gluing glass to granite support to prevent
deformations during grinding and polishing.
But Mirror Lab is out of this world class operation
and atms can only salivate while watching.

Duplicating their techniques will be just that, duplicating.
Making ultra thin with novel techniques  atm imagination 
and on atm budget will be real something.
