Russ, let him do his thing.  If wewere afraid to do anything when
problems surfaced, the USA would still be investigating whether
Conestoga Wagons would be adequate to go out into the western
areas of the continent and keep their riders alive.
First you have to dig in and see what the standard processes for
thin mirrors do with an ultrathin and then modify the process as
necessary to accomate the thinner pieces of glass.  Personally,
I'd prefer to encourage him as the processes needed for such thin
mirrors will eventually be well determined and passed about to
the benifit of everybody.
