Is the reason that you haven't actually tried? We're talking of 
deviations of some tens of nanometers - if you think your mirror will 
show you deformation, without your looking ever so carefully for it, I 
believe your optimism is unfounded. Likewise if you believe that the 
curvature on the blank will prevent edge support induced astigmatism, 
on the test stand or in the telescope.

Just a thought - you will find out the truth in your own good time.
