[ATM] Patent Application for an Automatic Telescope

I have a friend who is a patent agent.  He says stuff gets patented all
the time.  A fried of his who was studying to be patent agent, wrote an
application for a simple toy and was granted a patent.  The toy was a
ballon on a string.  No one had ever patented the thing.  That said, lets
see you enforce your rights to the royalties.

One of the best finder systems I ever saw was an old ships compass, in the
gimble, mounted to a pointer board on the bearing box of a dob.  Next to
it was a builders adjustable bubble level.  Set the angle on the level and
center the bubble.  Turn the scope till the azimuth lines up on the
compass, there was the target in the eyepiece.

I wonder if the process has been patented?
