I use clear silicon mastic, specially dedicated to aquariums. Adhesivity 
is excellent on aluminium and on glass. 4 mm thickness, three patches 30 
mm diameter. The celle is made of plywood, solidly varnished, ans three 
pieces of aluminium are screwed in. A small plastic ball in the middle 
of the patches give the thickness. I have a mirror glued like that 20 
years ago, without any problem.
