Hi Ken,

 

Thanks for the advice! Actually I should have mentioned that I was
thinking of refiguring it. This is the second mirror I made years ago,
and after a few more I'm pretty confident I can do a much better job
now.

If you are only going to re-aluminize the mirror... Do not polish the
existing coating off. Doing that will destroy the carefully figured
surface. Only polish the aluminum off if you are going to refigure the
glass.
