First find out what the errors in the surfacce are and then start
figuring the surface.  If you are doing the right strokes from
the first few, you will see the coating on the high spots go away
first and you will have an immediate feedback on the strokes that
you are doing are the right ones to get the mirror to a better
shape.
There is so little aluminum on the glass that a grain of the CeO
probably is heavier than the aluminum.
